SoClose complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). This page describes how copyright owners can submit takedown notices, and how users can submit counter-notices, for content hosted by SoClose.

Submitting a takedown notice

A valid DMCA notice must be a written communication that includes substantially the following:

  • Physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with a link to it on SoClose.
  • Contact information for the notifier.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notifier has a good-faith belief the use is not authorized and that the information in the notice is accurate.

Counter-notification

If your content was removed and you believe it was in error, you may submit a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. §512(g). Counter-notices are forwarded to the original notifier and, absent legal action within 10–14 business days, the removed content may be reinstated.

Repeat infringers

SoClose terminates the accounts of users determined to be repeat infringers under appropriate circumstances.
